border

We wish you a warm welcome to Artshed Arts in Ware.

Thank you for booking onto one of our workshops/parties or attending our drop-in crafts.

We have a few terms and conditions when booking a workshop with us and need to make you aware of a few things about our pottery, fused glass and lampworking.

First up its some information about payments…

For all workshops and courses;

For workshops under the value of £50 full payment is required when booking your place.

For workshops over the value of £50, customers are required to pay a deposit of £50 or full payment for the course upfront to secure their place. The remainder of the payment must be paid on the first day of the workshop/course starting.

Further split payments can be arranged with the management.

To pay a deposit please call 01920 466446 and we can take payment over the phone using a debit card or you can book and pay for the full class amount online via our website, following the instructions on your screen.

If you need to cancel your booking, you may do so up to seven days prior to the course starting and you will receive your money back.

If you have to cancel within 7 days and up to 48 hours of the course starting we regret no refund can be given; however, the money can be moved to a new workshop of your choice or a credit note can be given.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice then unfortunately no refund or credit note can be given, unless we manage to sell your place to another customer we will then refund you.

In the event that we have been unable to enrol the minimum number of people required for any of our scheduled workshops we will contact you at least 24hrs before, to advise you. You may then choose to do one of the following:

  • move to a new workshop or course of your choice (If the cost of the new workshop or course is higher you will need to pay the additional cost. If the cost is lower we will reimburse you for the difference)
  • A credit note can be given
  • You can receive a full refund

Please note; Workshop sell prices will change over the year due to the fluctuation of materials prices and electricity costs.

For birthday/hen/stag party bookings;

A minimum number of 8 is required to run any of our parties & bespoke workshops

We require a deposit of £50 to secure the date of your party.

At this point we will set up a booking form and discuss all your party options and requirements.

We will call you 7 days prior to the workshop date to confirm numbers with you. At that point the final balance is confirmed and payment will need to be made.

We accept cash or debit card payments.

If you need to cancel your party booking, you may do so up to seven days prior to the event but we regret your deposit cannot be refunded.

If you need to cancel within 7 days of the event, we regret no refund of your deposit can be given; however, the balance payment can be moved to a new workshop of your choice or a credit note can be given.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice then unfortunately no refund or credit note can be given.

In the rare event of extreme weather or staff sickness that would mean we are unable to run your event, we will discuss this with you as soon as it is possible. We will look at rearranging your event to a new date or a full refund will be given.

Please note; A minimum of 2 adults must be present at a children’s party of children under 10yrs as you will be required to take the children to the toilet, which is located outside the premises.

Painting on Pottery Disclaimer…

Where we take great care in ensuring your piece comes out perfect, on occasion a piece might have a fault. Due to the nature of this craft it is possible for breakages, cracks or differences in glazing, out of our control.

If you are not happy with the outcome of your piece then you are welcome to come back and paint another one. We will give you a credit note to the value of the faulty piece for you to bring back to paint at a time that suits you or spend on anything in our gift shop, on our drop-in crafts, workshops or courses, or even put it towards one of our birthday party packages.

Fused Glass Disclaimer…

Due to the nature of this glass craft, a lot of the glass has sharp edges. You must be aware you could cut yourself so please be careful and tell others that are in your care to take care too. We have trained first aiders to hand if you need any help and have first aid kits located in both workshops.

Lampworking Disclaimer…

This craft is hot! We use blow torches to melt the glass, we provide gloves and eye protection glasses. Full safety instructions are given to you by our tutor and we ask you to take care when using the equipment. You must be aware you could burn yourself. In this event we have trained first aiders to hand if you need any help and have first aid kits including burn treatment located in both workshops.

If you have any physical limitations please discuss with us before booking.

We recommend that long hair is tied back and that your clothes have tight sleeves.

These are for safety reasons.

Throwing on the Potters Wheel and Pottery Workshops…

You are advised to have short nails for this activity as it is much harder to “throw” a pot on the wheel if you have long nails. Remove any rings, your watch and necklaces (if you are throwing) It’s also a good idea not to wear your best clothes as you might get messy! Aprons are provided.

Toilets…

Our toilets are located outside of our premises, just along to the end of the barn. Children will require an adult as our staff will not be able to leave the premises.

Disabled access…

We have wheelchair and buggy access through both entrances, although one of them does have a small ramp and a threshold to navigate.

DBS…

All of our staff are DBS checked and certified for us to look after your children

Gift Vouchers…

Our gift vouchers last a full year from the date they are written. the expiry date will be written on the voucher. Please ensure you use the voucher up before it expires.

Workshop sell prices change over the year due to the fluctuation of materials prices and electricity costs. Your gift voucher will be honoured at the workshop price when it was purchased.

Purchases of clay…

We don’t accept returns of clay once the bag has been open. If you are unhappy with the clay you have purchased from us please contact us to discuss the issue.

We look forward to seeing you
