Open Day Fun in the Sunshine

The Bank Holiday Monday saw Artshed open its doors for an Open Day of fun, frolicks and fabulousness. Activities included lino printing courtesy of a clever bicycle, clay modelling, badge making, box decorating and bracelet making with a whole lot of laughs!

Summer Half Term Workshops Announcement

Summer Half Term Workshops are now available to book: Tuesday 28 May or Thursday 30 May, 10 – 3.30pm. For ages 7+

They will be a full day of workshops for children to make Tweety Pie pottery in the morning and in the afternoon either- depending on which day- mobile making using natural materials collected from outside with a colourful twist (Tuesday) or magical mosaic making (Thursday).

As always, please book early to avoid disappointment.

Inna Allen, from Finland, is a member of the Artshed’s thriving technical team. Amongst her many tactile talents she is a student of ceramics and she is also a professional photographer.

Elly Wall is a new Artshed tutor and will be teaching the beginners pottery course. She is a highly qualified and experienced ceramicist- with an MA in Ceramics and Glass- and taught for several years at the University of Hertfordshire before becoming a mum of two.

Welcome to Karen Davies who will be teaching one-day taster stained glass workshops for anyone who would like to give stained glass a try. She has been designing and producing stained glass in Hertfordshire for over twelve years.

New Silver Jewellery Tutor, Stephen Saliba

Artshed is delighted to welcome a new tutor, Stephen Saliba who is joining us this term. Stephen grew up locally and has heading back here after some time living in Bristol. He studied 3D Design Metalwork & Jewellery at Sheffield Hallam University and his expertise ever since has been in jeweller and gem-cutter, including some extensive teaching. He will be sharing his expert knowledge and techniques with the advanced silver jewellery techniques this Spring term to the advanced/intermediates workshops.

CHILDREN’S AUTUMN TERM FULL DAY WORKSHOPS – BOOK NOW

This Autumn term we are running a full day art and craft programme on Tuesday 30 October and Thursday 1 November, for children from 6. Tuesday is Paper craft, printing, paper sculpture, painting. Thursday is pottery and mosaic. Join us on either of those days and enjoy a full day (10 – 3.30) of art and craft for everyone. Parents can come too! £28.50. Bring along a lunch.
